In the 2018-2019 academic session, about 40,839 students applied and only 24% was admitted into the University of Virginia.

The University of Virginia School of Medicine was founded in by Thomas Jefferson in 1819, providing exceptional learning to the students and having her first “First Class” in 2010.

In line with the U.S. News and World Report in 2020, the UVA SoM is ranked as the 6th best medical school in Primary care. U.S. News and World Report in 2021 ranked it as the 26th best medical school in research and also the 6th best medical school in Primary care.
The UV SoM offers Doctor of Medicine (Masters Degree) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees, with thousands of graduates from the school. It is also in affiliation with the University of Virginia Health System and Inova Health System, having a faculty-student ratio is 1.7:1.
You need a Grade point average(GPA) of 3.93 and an MCAT score of 519 to be admitted into one of the best medical schools in Virginia(UV SoM). The application deadline for UV SoM is Nov. 1 with an application fee of $80.

VC USM began in 1838, but today, it is becoming one of the largest and oldest medical schools in Virginia. The 4-year MD-granting program school is located in Richmond, Virginia. It has more than 300 basic science investigators and has acquired a lot of awards, also being the number one university’s National Institutes of Health direction of funding.
The U.S. News and World Report in 2021 ranked it as the 68th best medical school in research and also the 49th best medical school in Primary care.
The Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine offers Doctor of Medicine (Masters Degree) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees, with thousands of graduates from the school.

Eastern Virginia Medical School was founded in 1973 by local philanthropists. Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine is located in Roanoke, Virginia. It is in partnership with Fralin Biomedical Research Institute. The public medical school was founded on January 3, 2007, by Dr. Cynda Ann Johnson. It became an official college of Virginia Tech on July 1, 2018.
Due to the strict selection policy for applicants, in 2020, only 46 students were selected for matters degree out of 4,611 applicants.

Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine is one of the private medical schools in Virginia, founded in 2001. It is precisely located at Blacksburg, VA. According to the U.S. News and World Report, it’s one of the most affordable private schools and one of the growing osteopathic medical schools in the United States.
Close to half of VCOM graduates are from rural communities and are working hard to grow the number of physicians in their communities. VCOM is rising to the second-largest medical school in the U.S.

Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine is a Christian private osteopathic medical school. It is the second osteopathic medical school after VCOM(Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine). It is located in Lynchburg, VA under the Liberty University. LUCOM was established in 2012 to help osteopathic physicians develop better knowledge in their field.
There are no rankings in U.S. News and World Report. It is accredited by the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA).

The medical schools in Virginia are tough to get admitted into. If you read through this article, you will notice that in Eastern Virginia Medical School, every year about 5,000 students seek to study in EVMS for a class size of only 150 students; in such context, for you to get admitted, you need a unique score and an excellent result in CASPer Test(if its one of the requirements).
