What to bring to the ACT Exam (Don’t forget any of these)4 min read

Remembering things is natural and normal, and as such, we are prone to forgetting things too. So, in order to prevent you from being a victim of forgetfulness when taking the ACT exam, I’ll provide you with a list of things you’ll need to bring.

What to bring to the ACT Exam

1. Admission Ticket:

You must provide your admission ticket in order to be eligible to take the ACT on a specific date and time. The proctors will not let you enter the testing center unless you have it.

Aside from that, your ACT ticket contains useful information regarding your testing center (for you) as well as any accommodations you may require (for your proctor).

The ACT admittance ticket verifies that you are the individual who has signed up to take the test, which is why it includes a photograph of you.

In order to make it more difficult for people to cheat by having someone else take their place on the test, the ticket is a relatively new requirement.

2. Acceptable Photo identification:

Admission to the testing center is dependent on the presentation of acceptable photo identification. If your identification does not fulfil the requirements of the ACT, you will be denied admission to the test.

The ID must be an authentic, current (legal) identification card issued by a city, state, or federal government agency, or by your educational institution. Identification must be in the form of a hard plastic card.

This is one of the most important things to bring to the ACT Exam.

3. Wrist Watch:

You may bring a watch to help you keep track of time, but do not bring a watch that has an alarm built in. During testing, your watch must be removed from your wrist and placed face up on your desk.

Students are welcome to bring any analog or digital watch that they are comfortable with, as long as the watches do not have audible alarms built-in.

You will be removed and your response sheet will not be scored if your watch beeps during the testing period, according to the American College Testing (ACT).

4. Number 2 pencil:

Carry a set of sharpened No. 2 pencils with good erasers to class (no mechanical pencils or ink pens). Ensure that you do not bring any other writing equipment, since you will not be permitted to use them in this class.

It is recommended that students bring at least two #2 pencils to the ACT test day. In spite of the fact that there are many different pencils accessible in stores, not all of them are created equal.

Students should bring pencils that they have previously used and like in order to avoid any unwanted shocks on test day, such as faulty erasers or quickly breakable pencils, which can be quite frustrating.

As one of the important things to bring to the ACT Exam, without these pencils, you will find it difficult to answer questions.

5. ACT Calculator:

Understanding how to use an ACT Approved Calculator will not only give you the advantage of efficiently preparing for your most effective strength, the ACT, but it will also influence your D-day results.

In its instructions, the ACT states that all test takers are permitted to use “any 4-function, scientific, or graphing calculator, provided that it is not on the forbidden list and that it is adjusted, if necessary.”

Your best bet is to utilize a calculator that you’re already familiar with. Yes, you could make use of your older sibling’s high-end graphing calculator if you wanted.

Recommended ACT Approved/Permitted Calculators:

  • Texas Instruments TI-84 Plus CE Graphics Calculator
  • TI-Nspire CX Graphing Calculator
  • Texas Instruments TI-83 Graphing Calculator
  • Casio fx-9750GII Graphing Calculator
  • HP 39gs Graphing Calculator

6. Pencil Sharpener:

If the lead on your pencil breaks during the exam, you can simply sharpen it with a pencil sharpener.

What not to bring during ACT Exam:

Devices are forbidden from entering the testing room until you are dismissed at the completion of the test, including breaks. Specifically:

Electronic devices:

In the testing room or during breaks, you may not use or access a telephone or other device. This includes smartwatches, fitness bands, and other devices that can record, upload, or communicate.

All electronics, including cell phones and wearables, must be turned off. It is possible to lose your phone or gadget if you use it in the testing room or during breaks.

Conclusion:

All of these materials are required for successful exam performance.

To be successful in the exam, you must possess your supplies and refrain from taking them from anybody else. It is against the regulations to discuss borrowing a pencil in the exam hall.

I would suggest that you pack everything you would need to bring to the ACT Exam the night before. The reason for this is because you may become worried on exam day and forget some important materials as a result of this.
