The BP Scholarship Program is a support scholarship that encourages local high school graduates to achieve their ambitions of attending college as a means of giving back to the areas in which we operate.
Since its establishment, the organization has given out over $3.5 million in scholarships to deserving students.
Eligibility for the BP Scholarship Program for 2022-2023:
- A current high school senior who plans to enroll as a full-time student (12 semester hours or more) in a two- or four-year college or university in the United States for the academic year 2022-2023.
- Must reside in New York City, Long Island, Westchester County, or northern New Jersey on a legal basis.
- On a 4.0 scale, you must have a 2.0 cumulative grade point average.
- Must be able to show that you have a financial necessity.
Application Requirements:
Applicants must submit a 500–750 word personal statement that answers all of the following questions:
- What have been the most important experiences during your high school years that have prepared you for college?
- What do you wish to achieve from your college education?
- Why should you be considered for a BP Community Scholarship?
Other exceptional requirements:
- Official high school transcript
- A copy of their Student Aid Report (SAR) including the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) from the information provided on their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Scholarship Nationality:
The BP Scholarship is open to New York and the northern New Jersey area.
Scholarship selection for the BP Scholarship 2022-2023:
The information supplied on the application, the personal statement, academic performance, extracurricular activities, work experience, individual objectives, and demonstrated financial need will all be taken into consideration when making selections for the scholarship.
Based on the above criteria, a committee comprising participating station owners and operators, as well as other stakeholders, will pick scholarship beneficiaries.
By the end of April, all candidates will be notified.
The BP scholarship celebration will be placed on May 26th, 2022 at Citi Field, and all scholarship recipients will be obligated to attend.
