MIT Requirements

  • Recommendation Letter.

This letter is very important because it stands as a statement from your teachers and they can always verify from them about your performances in school, probably your behavioir too.

A recommendation letter is needed from two teachers. One from the science or Maths department and one from any of your art teacher, it could be your humanities teacher or your language teacher too.

  • SAT or ACT results.

Your results must be of very high grades:

  1. ACT Math result should be from  35 to 36
  2. ACT English should be from 35 to 36

How to get into MIT

  • TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) exam or the IELTS (International English Language Testing System).

This exam is written by applicants who do not have English language as their first language. They ought to provide an evidence to show they know English Language well.

The requirement for the TOEFL exam is a minimum of 90%, a maximum of 100%, while IELTS is a minimum of 7 and a maximum of 7.5.

  • Application deadlines.

The deadlines vary depending on your application process. If you are using the early action, then the deadline is November 1st. If you want to use early decision method, then the deadline for this is January 1st or thereabout.
