The Baird Scholarship is a product of the Baird Foundation for all high schools in Arizona.
The Baird Foundation awards four-year scholarships to outstanding students graduating from Arizona high schools each year.
A committee from the University of Arizona selects roughly 20 finalists for the scholarship, and the Baird Foundation Board of Directors picks the awardees and alternates.
All Baird Scholars and Alternates are admitted to the Honors College automatically.

The Baird scholarship is available at the University of Arizona and offers a full-tuition grant that covers all required student expenses and the Honors College cost.
The Baird Scholars community at the University of Arizona’s Honors College will welcome successful students. This is a one-of-a-kind honor from the Honors College and the University of Arizona.
Additionally, the Baird Scholarship is not based on SAT or ACT scores.
Special Requirements for an Applicant:
- Admission to the University of Arizona for Fall 2022 is required.
- Must be an Arizona resident who attended an Arizona high school for a minimum of two years before admission to the University of Arizona or Arizona State University.
- Must be a US Citizen or a Permanent Resident of the United States.
- Have a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.75 or above in high school.
- 2 Letters of Recommendation (from a Teacher, Counselor, or Community member who is not family or friend)
- Official High School Transcript
- Resumé
- Two short (500-word max) essay responses
Scholarship worth:
The Baird Foundation financial awards a $12,500 annual scholarship. Additionally, the University of Arizona offers a full-tuition grant of $12,500 that covers all necessary student fees, including the Honors College tuition.
