The purpose of the Great Minds in STEM is to assure STEM college retention for students with a 3.0 grade point average (GPA) or higher, to ensure college completion, and to contribute to Hispanic communities while simultaneously ensuring position at the United States as the world’s biggest technological leader.
The mission of the Great Minds in STEM Organization is to be a national leader in promoting careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) particularly in underrepresented populations.
Eligibility for Henaac Scholarship
- Applicants must exhibit merit via academic achievements, leadership and campus/community activities
- Applicants must be pursuing a science, technology, engineering or math degree
- Applicants must have an overall minimum GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale
- Recipients must be enrolled full-time in a STEM undergraduate or graduate program for the next fall semester, at an accredited 2-yr or 4-yr college/university in the U.S. or its territories.
- Applicants must be of Hispanic heritage and/or must exhibit substantial leadership or contribution within the underprivileged community.
Scholarship Deadline:
The application deadline for the Great Minds in STEM/HENAAC Scholarship Program every year is April 30.
Scholarship Worth:
- A scholarship of between $500 and $10,000 awarded on the basis of merit.
- Publication in a special edition of TECHNiCA Magazine devoted to the HENAAC STEM Career Conference, as well as a press release.
- Transportation to and from the HENAAC STEM Career Conference, where Scholars will be presented with their scholarship alongside the sponsor.

Application for 2022 Great Minds in STEM/HENAAC Scholarship Program will open in January, moreover, the applicants need to provide the following:
- Application
- A 700-word essay on a predefined subject
- Current curriculum vitae
- A letter of reference from a peer, such as a buddy, student, lab partner, roommate, teammate, or member of a campus or community organization.
- One recommendation letter from a faculty member, instructor, mentor, adviser, counselor, principle, dean, or MEP Director.
- Official transcripts with your college or high school’s seal (Transcripts must be in English)
- Self-portrait (used for publication purposes only).
