JVS stands for Jobs, Vision, and Social. The JVS Scholarship program is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for Jewish students that covers their tuition and educational expenses.

The scholarship program assists deserving Jewish students whose primary residence is in the Greater Los Angeles area with financial assistance depending on their financial need, with the notion that education is the first step toward career success.

About the JVS Scholarship:

JVS Scholarship Program is devoted to giving as much assistance as possible to qualified beneficiaries. It encourages students to reapply each year they are enrolled so that we may continue assisting them throughout their post-secondary education.

Present beneficiaries are enrolled at community colleges, four-year institutions, universities, graduate schools, and vocational schools throughout California and the United States.

JVS has awarded over 5,400 scholarships worth more than $10.9 million since the program’s inception in 1972.

Present awardees are enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs at colleges, universities, and vocational institutions across the country.

Requirements of the JVS Scholarship:

• Must be a Jew
• Minimum age of sixteen (16).
• Permanent and legal resident of Los Angeles County – United States citizen or documented legal permanent resident of the United States for a minimum of three years (green card)
• Must enrol in an accredited public or private college, university, or vocational institution in the United States.
• Consider enrol full-time (minimum 12 units per term)
• Maintain a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.7 for undergraduate students and a minimum grade point average of 3.0 for graduate students for each semester or quarter enrolled.
• Financial need that is demonstrated and provable, including the FAFSA (student aid report) and student and parent tax records.

Applications for the JVS Scholarship 2023–2024 New Graduate class will open on January 1, 2023. The deadline for submitting a NEW application is March 31, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time (Midnight).

Applications for the 2023–2024 New Graduate class will open on January 1, 2023. The deadline for submitting a NEW application is March 31, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time (Midnight).
