Present beneficiaries are enrolled at community colleges, four-year institutions, universities, graduate schools, and vocational schools throughout California and the United States.

JVS has awarded over 5,400 scholarships worth more than $10.9 million since the program’s inception in 1972.

Requirements of the JVS Scholarship:

  • Must be a Jew
  • Minimum age of sixteen (16).
  • Permanent and legal resident of Los Angeles County – United States citizen or documented legal permanent resident of the United States for a minimum of three years (green card)
  • Must enrol in an accredited public or private college, university, or vocational institution in the United States.
  • Consider enrol full-time (minimum 12 units per term)
  • Maintain a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.7 for undergraduate students and a minimum grade point average of 3.0 for graduate students for each semester or quarter enrolled.
  • Financial need that is demonstrated and provable, including the FAFSA (student aid report) and student and parent tax records.
