Unlike other ISUS Scholarships, the Presidential Scholarship is the highest honor bestowed upon new students.

Freshmen who meet the requirements for the Presidential Scholarship and apply for admission by the November 1 priority deadline will be considered for this grant.

The applicant must submit a scholarship application by December 15th, which will be delivered to you if you are accepted.

Finalists will then be expected to participate in an interview program in January or February. In mid-March, the award winners are announced.

Students will be required to submit a scholarship form for assessment shortly after admission to the University in order to compete for the Presidential Scholarship—and to be eligible for the highest available rewards.

The University Scholarship is one of the ISUS Scholarships that is a very competitive scholarship and is open to freshmen from traditionally underrepresented groups or first-generation college students with a 3.5+ GPA (4.0 scale).

This scholarship is worth at least $6,000 and can be renewed for up to three more years.

New freshmen from traditionally underrepresented groups or first-generation college students are eligible for the University Scholarship.

Freshmen who meet the University Scholarship standards and apply for admission by the November 1 priority deadline will be considered for this grant.

The applicant must submit a scholarship application by December 15th, which will be delivered to you if you are accepted. Finalists will then be expected to participate in an interview program in February.

McLean County Full Tuition Scholarship:

The McLean County Full Tuition Scholarship is also one of the Illinois State University Scholarships awarded to new freshmen from McLean County who demonstrate leadership, dedication, and loyalty to our community.

This scholarship will be considered for freshmen who live in McLean County or attend a McLean County high school and apply for admission before our priority deadline of November 1.

Based on their leadership, community service, and civic participation in McLean County, five students will receive four years of free tuition. Each of these scholarships, which are available to new freshmen, has a current value of $50,000.

Eligible Schools for the McLean County Scholarship (ISUS Scholarship):

Bloomington High School, Calvary Christian Academy, Central Catholic High School, Cornerstone Christian Academy, Heyworth High School, Lexington High School, LeRoy High School, Normal Community High School, Normal West High School, Olympia High School, Ridgeview High School, Tri-Valley High School, University High School.

Legacy Scholarship:

New freshman and transfer students who have a parent or grandparent who attended Illinois State are eligible for the Legacy Scholarship.

Eligible students who apply during the preferred filing period will receive notification of their acceptance.

The Legacy Scholarship does not require a separate scholarship application. Award winners will be notified when funds become available, and rewards will be given out on a rolling basis.

Illinois State University Scholarships (ISUS) for Transfer Students:

Transfer Scholarship:

Domestic first-timer Transfer Scholarships are automatically provided to Illinois State students who have a minimum 3.5 GPA and have completed at least 24 college credit hours at another collegiate school.

This award is worth up to $3,000 (up to $1,500 every year for the remainder of your undergraduate education).

Eligibility Transfer Student Scholarships are automatically provided to first-time, domestic transfer students who demonstrate academic excellence.

Transfer students who match the scholarship criteria and confirm their eligibility by providing official transcripts by the final document submission date will be notified of their award.

The Transfer Student Scholarship does not require a separate application. Award recipients will be notified on a rolling basis, and awards will be made based on funding availability.

The AIM High Grant Program may fund a portion of Transfer Student Scholarships.

Transfer Student Scholarships are renewable for up to an additional year of undergraduate study. To preserve your award, you must maintain the following:

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship:

The Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship is presented to newly transferred students who are members of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.

Admissions officers will invite eligible students who submit an application for admission during our recommended filing period to apply for this award.

$1,000 in total ($500 per year, renewable for the remainder of your undergraduate education).

Eligibility requirements include a cumulative transfer GPA of 3.5 or higher and 24 or more college credit hours completed at another institution, in addition to membership in Phi Theta Kappa.

Each year, up to five transfer students from Heartland Community College will earn a minimum $1,000 scholarship. Some are renewed for an unlimited number of years.

The Bird to Bird Scholarship is a minimum $1,000 stipend given to incoming fall semester Heartland Community College transfer students who are Redbird Promise participants.

Transfer students who meet the Bird to Bird Scholarship criteria will be considered automatically for this grant.
